Softball Recap: Window Rock Takes a Loss

Window Rock lost against Page back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Window Rock came up short against Page, falling 24-10. The Fighting Scouts' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Ryleigh Owens and Lillyanna Loa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Owens went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Loa went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Owens hit this season. Teaghan Nez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Window Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Window Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Page, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Page beat Window Rock by a score of 16-1 later that day.
