Marion Center has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while River Valley has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. On Friday, Marion Center didn't have too much trouble with Purchase Line as they won 28-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camden Rising, who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards and one TD. Rising also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (2.0 for loss). Troy Slovinsky was another key player, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for River Valley against Conemaugh Valley on Friday as the squad secured a 46-14 win. Considering the Panthers have won five games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
River Valley's win came from a few key players Marion Center will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Max Persichetti, who rushed for 26 yards and one TD, and also threw for 27 yards and one touchdown. Brodie Forsha made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
River Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayden Kehathilwe and Forsha. Forsha got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Marion Center's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
