Recap: Holtville Vikings vs. Calipatria Hornets
The Holtville Vikings's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They took down Calipatria 41-27. The win was just what Holtville needed coming off of a 61-21 loss in their prior match.
Jasmine Garewal went supernova for Holtville, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Garewal hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 18 rebounds and 10 assists.
Holtville's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Calipatria, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holtville will take on Vincent Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Vincent Memorial is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Calipatria, they will be playing at home against Calexico Mission at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
