Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Academy Takes a Loss

St. Mary's Academy lost against La Salle back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The St. Mary's Academy Belles fell 49-36 to the La Salle Lancers. The matchup marked the Belles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Casey Higgins was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards for La Salle. Another player making a difference was Aislin Tamez Torres, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for La Salle, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 17-4.

St. Mary's Academy will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Bishop Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. Bishop Montgomery will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something St. Mary's Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Salle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Salle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.
