Soccer Game Preview: Drew vs. Pace Academy

Drew will face off against the Pace Academy Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Drew will be strutting in after a win while Pace Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Pace Academy better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Drew's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Drew really gets things going. Drew never let Mays get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Drew, who have now won five matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Pace Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Midtown by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pace Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Midtown is ranked 166th).

Drew has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four matchups. Pace Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-3.
