Softball Recap: Washington Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Washington kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 23-13 to the Forest Park Panthers. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Aaliyah Reynolds made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenaya Williamson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.

The victory got Forest Park back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Washington will venture away from home to take on KIPP Atlanta Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Forest Park, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pebblebrook at 5:30 p.m.
