Soccer Game Preview: Whetstone vs. Upper Arlington

The Whetstone Braves will challenge the Upper Arlington Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Upper Arlington took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Whetstone, who comes in off a win.

Whetstone barely beat West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Braves' defense stepped up to hand the Cowboys a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. Whetstone might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Upper Arlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Hilliard Davidson, falling 5-1. Upper Arlington fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Hilliard Davidson since Tuesday.

Whetstone is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those 11 matchups. As for Upper Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-3.
