Basketball Game Preview: ABF Academy Cowboys vs. Centennial Eagles

The ABF Academy Cowboys and the Centennial Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. ABF Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge.

ABF Academy is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since February 5th last Wednesday. They fell just short of Coral Gables by a score of 66-63.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Eric Dibami, who posted 21 points. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Sebastian Paez was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Meanwhile, Centennial was able to grind out a solid win over Westwood Christian on Thursday, taking the game 72-62.

Centennial's win came from a few key players ABF Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jeremy Felix, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 24 points along with five assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Felix Buroz, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for ABF Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as ABF Academy and Centennial are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. ABF Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 75 points per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 68.3 points.
