Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Wins High-Profile Game Against Millard North

Elkhorn South faced Millard North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Storm had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Storm sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Lauren Schneider and Ollie Songster did most of the damage at the plate: Schneider went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Songster went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. Isabelle Jackson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Elkhorn South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Elkhorn South's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Millard North, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-3.
