Basketball Recap: Arroyo Takes a Loss

Arroyo lost against Gabrielino back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Arroyo Knights lost 39-18 to the Gabrielino Eagles. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gabrielino's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Yamashita, who posted 12 points. Yamashita has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shannon Yan, who had six points and six steals.

Arroyo's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Gabrielino, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9.

Arroyo will host El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Arroyo is facing El Monte at the right time seeing as El Monte is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. Gabrielino has already played their next contest (against Marshall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
