Basketball Game Preview: Shasta Wolves vs. Foothill Cougars

Shasta hasn't had much luck against Foothill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Shasta Wolves will take on the Foothill Cougars at 7:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Shasta came up short against Pleasant Valley and fell 45-33. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Foothill hadn't done well against Chico recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Foothill escaped with a win against Chico by the margin of a single free throw, 73-72. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Foothill's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-10. As for Shasta, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.

Shasta was able to grind out a solid victory over Foothill when the teams last played back in January, winning 57-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Foothill's Kalli Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
