Woodward Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Tri-Cities since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The War Eagles will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Woodward Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Woodward Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Westminster on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 7-5. War Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Friday.

Woodward Academy got a good showing from Turner Marshall, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Marshall didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

At the plate, Woodward Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Ray, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Landon Walker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Tri-Cities was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They came up short against Shiloh, falling 23-0.

Woodward Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Tri-Cities, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Tri-Cities' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Woodward Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. It's a different story for Tri-Cities, though, as they've only averaged .287. Will they be able to contain Woodward Academy's hitters?

Woodward Academy took their win against Tri-Cities in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 19-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
