Baseball Recap: Dixie County Takes a Loss

Dixie County fell victim to Marathon and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Dolphins, falling 11-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Marathon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.

Dixie County and Marathon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Bears (ranked 247th) will meet Jefferson County (ranked 572nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marathon will take on Chiefland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (175 vs. 374).
