Softball Recap: Boulder Panthers vs. Riverdale Ridge Ravens
Boulder had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-20 to make it 11. They came up short against the Riverdale Ridge Ravens, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-1 back in September.
As for Riverdale Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.
For Riverdale Ridge's part, Brooklyn Herschberger tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Herschberger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaeanna Sandoval, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Peyton Saenz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boulder will welcome Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will square off against Westminster at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
