Softball Game Preview: Palmer Terrors vs. Mesa Ridge Grizzlies

Palmer hasn't had much luck against Mesa Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Terrors are taking a road trip to challenge the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. Palmer has given up an average of 19.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Palmer is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 24-16 to Mitchell on Monday.

Mesa Ridge came out on top against Cheyenne Mountain on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Grizzlies took their game against the Red-Tailed Hawks 7-4.

Kaitlyn Fielder was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last five matchups.

In other batting news, Nahlia(Taco) Zunk was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.

Mesa Ridge now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Palmer suffered a grim 22-6 defeat to Mesa Ridge in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Terrors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
