Softball Recap: Northside Extends Winning Streak to Four

Northside extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 5-1. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Newnan Cougars. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Wetherly Ridley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kennedy Williams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Raelyn Warren was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Northside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive matchups.

As for Newnan, they now have a losing record of 4-5. They haven't had much luck with Northside recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

On Newnan's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cambree Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will square off against Northgate at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newnan, they will challenge Dutchtown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
