Baseball Recap: Hart Pirates vs. Montague Wildcats
Hart had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 8-22 to make it four. They came up short against the Montague Wildcats, falling 10-0. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.
As for Montague, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-6. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Montague's part, Cole Herremans made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Herremans has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other pitching news, Eli Pendell looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
Back at the plate, Chase Kurtzhal was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Hart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montague, they will face off against Reeths-Puffer at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
