It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but De Pere had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Hortonville Polar Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Redbirds were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Polar Bears, so the Redbirds were just returning the favor.
While De Pere won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16, 26-24.
Mallory Derenne was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 digs and two assists.
De Pere was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.
