Baseball Recap: Milton Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Milton can now relate to. They lost 11-0 to the Pope Greyhounds on Wednesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Milton and nudges their season record down to 14-17. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 16-14 Seckinger (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.8% over those games). As for Pope, the victory was the 22nd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-3.

Pope didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against Seckinger on the 23rd. Hopefully Milton paid attention to the Greyhounds' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
