Basketball Recap: Canyon Springs Comes Up Short

Canyon Springs suffered their biggest loss since January 7th on Friday. They were beaten by the Orange Vista Coyotes 66-39. The Cougars have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Orange Vista had a senior duo take command as Adrian Viray shot 58% from the field en route to 15 points along with five boards and four steals and Dylan Avila went 6-for-11 on his way to 16 points. Avila has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 55% every time he's hit the court this season. Sincere Cotten was another key player, putting up eight points and seven assists.

Canyon Springs now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Orange Vista, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Canyon Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-21 defeat against Citrus Valley on the 22nd. As for Orange Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-52 victory against Hemet on the 22nd.
