Football Recap: Valley Heights Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Valley Heights was feeling good fresh off their 49-6 takedown of Herington last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Republic County Buffaloes on Friday, falling 36-11. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Nickolas Kendall had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 15 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for nine yards and one TD for Republic County. Kendall has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played.

Valley Heights' defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Republic County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Heights will welcome Marion on Friday. As for Republic County, they will square off against Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
