Basketball Recap: Fresno Takes a Loss

Fresno was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 56-41 to the Roosevelt Rough Riders. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 203rd).

Nyleigh Gregory was her usual excellent self, going 13 of 22 en route to 39 points for Roosevelt. Those 39 points gave Gregory a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Auburn Santos, who posted ten points and four steals.

Fresno's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Roosevelt, they moved to 18-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Fresno has already played their next match, a 63-26 win against Washington Union on the 1st. As for Roosevelt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-49 loss against Bullard on the 4th.
