Basketball Recap: Encinal's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Encinal won the last time they faced San Lorenzo and things went their way on Friday too. The Encinal Jets took down the San Lorenzo Grizzlies 54-39. Given the Jets' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 1207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loss or not, San Lorenzo got some senior leadership from Sariyah Bishop and Izzy Bolanos. Bishop posted 17 points, while Bolanos scored 18 points.

Encinal now has a winning record of 8-7. As for San Lorenzo, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Encinal will challenge Skyline on Monday. As for San Lorenzo, they will square off against Hayward at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th.
