Basketball Recap: Rutherford Comes Up Short

Rutherford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 69-58 to the Bay Tornadoes. The Rams were probably out for revenge after losing 71-67 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maddox Memmen had a dynamite game for Bay, going 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Memmen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Pratt, who posted 15 points.

Rutherford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Bay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Rutherford will square off against Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bay, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-44 loss against Fort Walton Beach on the 11th.
