Basketball Recap: Borrego Springs Takes a Loss

Borrego Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-10 loss at the hands of the Hamilton Bobcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-4 two weeks ago.

Melanie Urquidez was Borrego Springs' leading scorer, having posted eight points. Urquidez also led the team in rebounds with six.

Borrego Springs' record now sits at 1-6. As for Hamilton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

When Borrego Springs and Hamilton next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Borrego Springs will try to stop Mountain Empire's three-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Hamilton will take on San Jacinto Valley Academy and their four-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
