Baseball Game Preview: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles vs. Tallulah Falls Indians

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Tallulah Falls is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rabun Gap-Nacoochee 3.9, Tallulah Falls 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since April 30, 2024 two weeks ago. They had just enough and edged out Christ School 4-3.

At the plate, Tallulah Falls let Ashton Roache and BJ Carver run wild. Roache got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Carver went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Carver has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Tallulah Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gatewood only posted an OBP of .318.

Tallulah Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee took their victory against Tallulah Falls in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
