Basketball Recap: Truckee Takes a Loss

Truckee lost against Quincy back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wolverines fell 36-28 to the Trojans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolverines came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Trojans are ranked 832nd).

When it comes to explaining why Truckee lost, don't look at Jessie Borzello. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points.

Truckee has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Quincy, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Truckee will be home for the holidays to greet North Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Wolverines their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Quincy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-52 win against Portola on the 13th.
