Recap: Smethport Hubbers vs. Coudersport Falcons
The Smethport Hubbers lost against the Coudersport Falcons back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Smethport was outmatched by the Falcons at home and fell 48-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Smethport has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Smethport saw an underclassman step up: Madelyn McKean scored six points.
Smethport has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Coudersport, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smethport won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Galeton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last 16 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Coudersport will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Terrors at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
