Soccer Game Preview: Gardena vs. Banning

The Gardena Panthers will square off against the Banning Pilots at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Gardena is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering San Pedro just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Pirates. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Banning waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Gauchos 8-1. The Pilots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Narbonne from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Melanie Ayala led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Banning has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 63 goals over those 11 contests. As for Gardena, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3-1.
