Basketball Recap: Capistrano Valley Comes Up Short

Capistrano Valley played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 54-28 to the Edison Chargers. The Cougars were down 44-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Capistrano Valley lost, don't look at Paisley Petrosian. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. That was a full 35.7% of the Cougars' points, marking the third time in a row Petrosian has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Lane, who put up six points.

Capistrano Valley now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Edison, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Capistrano Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwood at 5:30 p.m. on December 1. As for Edison, they will take on Ocean View in a tournament on Saturday.
