Baseball Recap: Cedarville Takes a Loss

Cedarville extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 21 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brimley Bays. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since May 21, 2025.

As for Brimley, the victory got them back to even at 8-8. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Cedarville: they've now won four in a row.

For Brimley's part, Cedarville's batters probably weren't too happy with Darren Johnson, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up six walks). Johnson also allowed no hits, which is notable because the Bays are 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Brimley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micah Morrison, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Cedarville is taking a road trip to face off against Mackinaw City at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Brimley, they will take on Pellston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
