Baseball Recap: Chattahoochee County Triumphs

Chattahoochee County's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dougherty Trojans 6-5.

Will Drury made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Kurovski, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Konnor Mercer was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Chattahoochee County back to even at 2-2. As for Dougherty, their record is now 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattahoochee County will square off against Carver at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dougherty, they will face off against Macon County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
