Football Recap: Franklin Christian Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Friendship Christian, Franklin Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Clarksville Academy Cougars 22-21.

Everett Wandrey was his usual excellent self, rushing for 267 yards and two TDs. Franklin Christian Academy is undefeated when Wandrey posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Caleb Franklin was in the mix too, providing the Falcons with one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Franklin Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

Franklin Christian Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Clarksville Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Franklin Christian Academy will challenge Scotts Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.22 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Clarksville Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-0 victory against Mount Juliet Christian Academy on the 30th.
