Kennedy extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Andreya Villa. The Kennedy Cougars simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Sylmar Spartans 71-41 thanks in part to Villa, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 rebounds. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Sylmar saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Yaneli Zuniga-Hernandez posted 23 points along with five boards and three blocks. Isabella Gonzalez was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kennedy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Sylmar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Kennedy has already played their next game, a 74-19 victory against Reseda on the 27th. As for Sylmar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-41 loss against Van Nuys on the 29th.
