Preview: Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders vs. Victory Christian Academy Knights
The Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Victory Christian Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Mater Dei Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mater Dei Catholic beat Oceanside 37-33.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Dei Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Promise Martin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Martin hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ana karen Lacave, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy beat Montgomery 45-34 on Wednesday.
Mater Dei Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Mater Dei Catholic took their victory against Victory Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 86-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mater Dei Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
