The Olympia Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Delavan Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Olympia came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-1 to Pekin. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Delavan challenged ROWVA/Williamsfield on Monday. The Panthers came up short against the Cougars, falling 11-3. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cougars since Monday.
Corbin Soldal put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. Soldal was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
