Basketball Game Preview: Rancho Bernardo Broncos vs. Westview Wolverines

Rancho Bernardo hasn't had much luck against Westview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rancho Bernardo Broncos will face off against the Westview Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Westview will be up against a hot Rancho Bernardo squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Rancho Bernardo took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 62-23 victory over Poway. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Lindsay Biddle was her usual excellent self, putting up 26 points. Another player making a difference was Keira Tokushige, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Westview's strategy against Fallbrook on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Westview blew Fallbrook out of the water with a 71-34 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-13.

Westview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Rancho Bernardo, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.

Rancho Bernardo might still be hurting after the 63-41 loss they got from Westview when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Rancho Bernardo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
