Basketball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Ignatius College Preparatory can now relate to. They fell to the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders 49-45. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, with their most recent loss being a 57-45 defeat last Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archbishop Riordan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tallyah Nasol, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariah Thompson, who put up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Ignatius College Preparatory and nudges their season record down to 14-11. As for Archbishop Riordan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Coming up, St. Ignatius College Preparatory will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Mitty at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Mitty knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully St. Ignatius College Preparatory likes a good challenge. As for Archbishop Riordan, they will take on Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Riordan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
