Soccer Recap: La Mirada Comes Up Short

La Mirada and Sage Hill squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but La Mirada had to settle for second. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Sage Hill Lightning who were credited with the win. The Sage Hill Lightning got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the La Mirada Matadores' three. While losing is never fun, the Matadores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Lightning are ranked 36th).

Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with San Diego sitting on four straight victories and Sage Hill on five.
