Soccer Game Preview: Carroll vs. Butler

The Carroll Patriots are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Butler Aviators at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Carroll will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

While Carroll's win against Dayton Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots never let the WARRIORS get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Butler). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Greenville on Tuesday. Butler haven't had any issues with Greenville recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Butler, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Carroll beat Butler by a goal when the teams last played back in August of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
