Softball Recap: Hannibal Takes a Loss

Hannibal lost against Marshall on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates fell just short of the Owls by a score of 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Hannibal and nudges their season record down to 1-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Hannibal will head out to take on Kirksville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marshall, they will be playing at home against Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
