Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Victorious

St. Mary owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against the Lynn English Bulldogs by a score of 4-0. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Rolky Brea-Arias made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Michael Demaino was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nate Cutone, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Mary's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Lynn English, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will take on Boston English at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Lynn English, they will challenge Swampscott at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Big Blue's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
