Softball Recap: West Marshall Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

West Marshall waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Newton Cardinals. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

West Marshall pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Newton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.

West Marshall has already played their next contest (against Grundy Center), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Newton also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against East Marshall.
