The Overhills Jaguars will take on the Triton Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Overhills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Triton likes a good challenge.
Overhills is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Harnett Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Overhills blew Harnett Central out of the water with a 68-12 final score. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Najiha Allen, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Paris Autry was another key player, going 8 for 12 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and four steals.
Overhills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Triton came up short against Pine Forest on Tuesday and fell 47-40. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Overhills will need focus on slowing down Nashara McNeil-Watlington, one of several Triton players who made an impact when they last played. She went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and five steals. That was a full 35% of Triton's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Niah Smith, who had 13 points.
Triton's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Overhills, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Overhills hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.2 points per game. It's a different story for Triton, though, as they've been averaging only 39.9 points. The only thing between Overhills and another offensive beatdown is Triton. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Overhills against Triton in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-16 win. Does Overhills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Triton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
