Basketball Recap: Gregori Falls Short of Mcclatchy in the Playoffs

Gregori and McClatchy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Gregori had to settle for second. They took a blow against the McClatchy Lions, falling 96-33. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Lions are ranked 16th).

Gregori's loss came despite strong showings from Alanah Lopez and Gia Brown. Lopez went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points, while Brown posted nine points. The contest was Lopez's third in a row with at least 18 points.

Gregori's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for McClatchy, their victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-6.

Gregori does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McClatchy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-54 win against Antelope on the 20th.
