Baseball Recap: Aquinas Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Aquinas entered their tilt with Pacelli on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Blugolds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Kamrowski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Ryan Johnson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Aquinas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pacelli only posted a batting average of .167.

Aquinas' record is now 12-4. As for Pacelli, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

Aquinas and Pacelli should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Blugolds will take on Tomah at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (43 vs. 132). Meanwhile, Pacelli (ranked 178th) will meet Tri-County (ranked 364th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
