Recap: Woodcreek Timberwolves vs. Inderkum Tigers
The Inderkum Tigers typically have all the answers at home, but on Monday the Woodcreek Timberwolves proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 58-49. For Woodcreek, this counts as revenge for the 49-46 defeat Inderkum walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Leading Woodcreek to victory were Emma Fisilau and Ryan Nair. Fisilau scored 20 points, while Nair scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Nair hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Grant, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Inderkum still got an impressive performance from Jamiah Fontenberry, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 36.7% of Inderkum's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Breahn Flood was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Even though they lost, Inderkum smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodcreek only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Woodcreek's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Inderkum, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-5.
Woodcreek will take on Bella Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodcreek is facing Bella Vista at the right time seeing as Bella Vista is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Inderkum, they will head out on the road to face off against Yuba City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Yuba City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday.
