Basketball Recap: Bethel Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Bethel faced off against Wood on Monday. The Bethel Jaguars lost 50-28 to the Wood Wildcats. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikyah Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. What's more, Dixon also racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Amiyah Murry was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.

Bethel's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Wood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Bethel will square off against Tamalpais at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Bethel is facing Tamalpais at the right time seeing as Tamalpais is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wood, they will face off against River City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
