Softball Recap: Gross Catholic Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Gross Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Omaha South Packers with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Brynn Hofmann, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julianna Braun, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Gross Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gross Catholic's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Omaha South, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Gross Catholic and Omaha South will both be playing Benson the next time they take the field. The Packers will head out to face the Bunnies on Wednesday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
