Soccer Recap: Redlands East Valley Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Redlands East Valley after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Ayala Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 193rd).

Redlands East Valley's goal came courtesy of Mia Urbano, who's now up to five this season.

Redlands East Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ayala, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Redlands East Valley take on the JSerra Catholic at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Redlands East Valley's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Ayala, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walnut at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
